Business Contract Hire and Vehicle Leasing

Contract Hire and Finance Lease can help businesses access cars and vans without purchasing them outright at the outset. Each option works differently, particularly at the end of the agreement, so it is important to understand the terms before deciding which route may suit your business.

Ethos can arrange vehicle leasing solutions for individual vehicles and fleets through a range of established providers.

Finance Leasing vs Contract Hire

They are similar in that both solutions involve paying an agreed monthly fee for a set amount of time.

Contract Hire

This is the most common form of lease agreement. A monthly fee and annual mileage is agreed, and this usually covers tax and often maintenance and breakdown cover.

At the end of the agreement, the vehicle is returned back, as long as it is still in good shape. If there is damage and/or the mileage has been exceeded, you can expect to pay an additional cost.

Finance Lease

A Finance Lease allows a business to use a vehicle for an agreed term in return for regular rentals. The business usually takes responsibility for maintenance and may be exposed to the vehicle’s residual value. End-of-agreement arrangements vary, so our team will explain the specific terms provided by the lender.
